2019 Museum Recap

Since we’re all about FRESH design, we need plenty of time away from the screen and lots of art in our lives to keep the inspiration flowing. This year, I did more hiking than art-gawking (which I’m totally fine with too), but here are some standout museums, exhibits, and installations I enjoyed immensely in 2019:

  • Museum of Fine Arts Houston (Houston, TX) “Transparent Migrations” by Amalia Mesa-Bains; “La sordidez/Sordidness” by Antonio Berni; “Vivir sin seguro/To Live without Assurance” by Rómulo Macció.

  • Contemporary Arts Museum (Houston, TX) “If I can’t dance, it’s not my revolution!” by Steven Evans

  • The Jung Center (Houston, TX) “A Man in a Suit holding a Succulent” by Alex Hysinger

  • The Neon Museum (Las Vegas, NV)

  • Dallas Museum of Art (Dallas, TX) “Dior: From Paris to the World” exhibit

  • The Chinati Foundation (Marfa, TX) “15 untitled works in concrete” by Donald Judd; “100 untitled works in mill aluminum” by Donald Judd
